I'm Afonso Castella, a Destination Wedding Photographer with a passion for bringing a personal touch to everything I do.
From a young age, I was inspired by my grandfather, a photographer at heart. He gifted me my first camera, sparking a love for photography that has stayed with me ever since.
To be honest, there was a time when photography started to feel like just work. I was shooting so much, and my cameras were so heavy that I stopped taking them everywhere with me.
Then I got my hands on a Fujifilm X100F, and everything changed. I started photographing for myself again, rediscovering the freedom to create art on my own terms. I began collecting cameras that brought me joy, just for fun.
I returned to analog photography, my true passion. Since then, nothing makes me happier than shooting entire weddings on film with my Leica M7, Minilux, Contax G1, and Hasselblad 500C. And yes, I still do digital if you wanna ahahah
My calm, authentic style, and my love for analog, cinema, and sensitivity help me capture moments filled with emotion and meaning, always with the unique aesthetic I believe each wedding deserves.
